From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Opening weekend of the Lautaret Garden for the 2024 summer season as part of the Ministry of Culture’s “Rendez-vous aux Jardins” event series
The Five Senses in the Garden
From May 29 to June 2, more than 2,200 parks and gardens will open their doors—some for the first time ever—across France. As for us, this marks our annual opening!!!
What is "The 5 Senses at the Lautaret Garden"?
Well, first of all theVIEW. Lautaret is simply beautiful in every season, with its 360-degree mountain views... and when this natural setting is enhanced by collections of plants whose seeds have been gathered from all over the world... it’s a real feast for the eyes!
THE SENSE OF SMELL. We’re not telling you anything new, but it smells better in a garden than in the middle of the city ;-)
TASTE. The jardin du Lautaret many useful and edible plants. But remember, you should only taste them if the guide invites you to, of course! Get your taste buds ready, because we won’t tell you the names of the plants until you’ve tasted them, and you’ll have to guess what other foods they remind you of.
L'OUIE. Birdsong, the lapping of water, the rustling of leaves, small creatures scurrying among the flower stems... A delight for the ears. You’re instantly transported to paradise... Yes, yes, absolutely!
THE TOUCH. In our open-air museum, just as with food, you may only touch plants if you’re given permission—and we’ll let you know if certain plants are stinging or photosensitive! You’ve been warned :-)
