Learn about botany with The jardin du Lautaret
Every year, The jardin du Lautaret training in botany and mountain ecology for students and staff from organizations and agencies involved in the environment as part of their continuing professional development. It also hosts and participates in numerous undergraduate and doctoral programs in various fields of scientific research.
  • The Mountain Research School 2026 (Summer Session)
    August 23–28, 2026. A doctoral training program in the mountains, at the intersection of the humanities and social sciences and Earth and environmental sciences. Observe, conduct experiments, and engage with scientists and local partners on the topic of biodiversity and high-altitude lakes.
  • The Mountain Research School 2026 (Spring Edition)
    April 20-24, 2026, at the Lautaret Garden. A doctoral and master's program in the mountains, at the crossroads of the humanities and social sciences and Earth and environmental sciences. Observe, experiment, and exchange ideas with scientists and local partners on the theme of the cryosphere.
  • University Diploma (DU) in Botany and Alpine Ecology of the Briançon Region - FULL
    July 6 to July 11, 2026: Six days of botanical training for undergraduate and graduate biology students or continuing professional development trainees. The course will be based in the Briançonnais region, near the Lautaret garden, and led by Rolland Douzet, botanist and associate professor atUniversité Grenoble Alpes.
  • Alpine botany training
    July 13-16, 2026: Four days of training on the functioning and uses of high-altitude plant communities in the Lautaret garden and surrounding area, alternating between field trips and classroom sessions to learn about the alpine plant formations in the area. Each plant group will be presented through its structuring species, their floristic characteristics, the specific features of the environment, its ecological functioning, and interactions with humans. Course supervised by Rolland Douzet, botanist and associate professor atUniversité Grenoble Alpes.
