August 23–28, 2026. A doctoral training program in the mountains, at the intersection of the humanities and social sciences and Earth and environmental sciences. Observe, conduct experiments, and engage with scientists and local partners on the topic of biodiversity and high-altitude lakes.
The LabEx ITTEM, OSUG, andUG@rchitecture, in partnership with The jardin du Lautaret, are organizing the Mountain Research School for thesixth consecutive year. This program serves as a doctoral training school focused on interdisciplinary research between the humanities and social sciences and earth and environmental sciences, within mountain regions.

On the agenda: biodiversity and high-altitude lakes: the socio-environmental challenges posed by human activity. An immersive experience in the Écrins Massif around the Lautaret Garden

As part of a collaborative research initiative, the Mountain Research School contributes to the platform eLTER RI (European Ecosystem Research Infrastructure).

The costs of supervision, accommodation, and meals are covered by the LabEx ITTEM, OSUG, and Architectures. Travel expenses (to and from Grenoble) are also covered by the LabEx programs. This training opportunity is primarily intended for doctoral students from the partner laboratories of LabEx ITTEM, OSUG, and Architectures. Applications from doctoral students outside the scope of these LabEx programs will be considered based on available spots.
