Centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of White Coal and Tourism
Since 2024, The jardin du Lautaret joined the Richesses Culturelles de l'Oisans association and is working alongside it to organize the centenary celebrations for the 1925 International Exhibition of White Coal and Tourism. This event celebrates the scientific heritage of the surrounding area.
Exactly 100 years ago, the International Exhibition of White Coal and Tourism was held in Grenoble. White coal refers to hydraulic energy converted into electricity, as opposed to black coal.

In Oisans, celebrations marking the centenary of the 1925 World Exhibition of White Coal and Tourism will take place from May 17 to October 31, offering some truly wonderful events that are not to be missed! These include a lecture by Jacques Julliard on July 28 in the Lautaret Garden, in partnership with Les Richesses Culturelles de l'Oisans (The Cultural Treasures of Oisans).
