A historic day at the Col du Lautaret! Nearly 200 people gathered to celebrate the Garden's 110th anniversary and lay the foundations for a major development project.
July 7, 2009, was a historic day for The jardin du Lautaret. This garden was created by the University of Grenoble 110 years ago and moved to its current location 90 years ago. The laboratory chalet was added 20 years ago to enable modern research on alpine plants and ecosystems.
The entire structure has brought together the CNRS and the University of Grenoble within the Jardin du Lautaret joint service unit (UMS) since 2005.
July 7 marks the launch of a major project. Alpe Gallery at the Lautaret Pass which aims to build a platform for research, training, and public outreach. The University has announced a contribution of €500,000 to this major project.
