An award given to jardin du Lautaret its contribution to research in alpine biology.
The Prince Louis de Polignac Foundation, recognized as a public utility foundation in 1997, awards its 2007 Grand Prize to the Lautaret Alpine Botanical Garden for its contribution to research in alpine biology, in accordance with the wishes of Prince Louis de Polignac, co-founder of the Foundation with Judge Irène Daurelle, co-founding president. This prize, worth €25,000, is awarded on the recommendation of the French Academy of Sciences, following a meeting of a jury chaired by Jean-François Bach, permanent secretary, and accompanied by Christian Amatore, André Capron, Roland Douce, Michel Le Moal, Michel Pouchard, Bernard Roques, and Alain Valleron, members of the French Academy of Sciences.
The medal was presented to Serge Aubert, former director of the Lautaret Garden, by Judge Irène Daurelle, co-founder and president of the Prince Louis de Polignac Foundation.
