New management team for the Lautaret garden
The new management team accompanied by, from left to right, Isabelle Sendrané, sub-prefect of the Briançon district, Hautes Alpes, Michel Fily, director of the Grenoble Observatory of Universe Sciences (OSUG), Claudine Schmidt-Lainé, Rector of the Grenoble Academy, Chancellor of Universities, Pierre Leroy, President of the Pôle d'Equilibre Territorial et Rural (PETR) of Greater Briançon, Lise Dumazy, President ofuniversité Grenoble Alpes, Patrick Levy, President of the université Grenoble Alpes Community.
In February 2015, The jardin du Lautaret its iconic director, Serge Aubert. His name will remain linked to the history of the site. The two academic authorities,Université Grenoble Alpes the CNRS, entrusted the new management to Jean-Gabriel Valay and his deputy directors, Philippe Choler and Rolland Douzet.

Jean-Gabriel Valay

Jean-Gabriel Valay, Director.

He leads, manages, and represents The jardin du Lautaret supervisory bodies, institutional partners, and all networks to which The jardin du Lautaret belongs. He assumes the responsibilities of a unit director, as defined by the University of Grenoble Alpes and the CNRS.

Philippe Choler, Deputy Director of Research


Philippe Choler, Deputy Director in charge of Research.

It proposes strategic guidelines to the management committee regarding research and infrastructure use, as well as the positioning of the UMS within national and international ecology and experimentation station networks.
 

Rolland Douzet

Rolland Douzet, assistant director in charge of the garden.

He proposes guidelines to the management committee on development, policy for exchanges with other botanical gardens, educational activities, and the dissemination of knowledge. He coordinates botanical expertise activities. He is also responsible for managing the Garden's revenue.
